I completely agree that long-term relationships are hard work and difficult, but everyone's experience is different, and relying on the memory of a thing instead of the current presence of a thing can drastically alter one's perception. I think that when you really look down deep at the whole thing, it's easier and more secure as a ball of yarn grows.
